The issues may affect those who are generally on pay day across the country; some have complained about not getting paid.
HSBC UK cited a “separate payments issue affecting multiple banks,” while Nationwide cited a “third-party payments issue.”
Customers were also notified by Barclays, and Virgin Money said that access to their app has been entirely restored following problems in the morning, however there is still a backlog of payments to be processed.
The Bank of England is reportedly in communication with the impacted banks, according to the Financial Conduct Authority, which declared that it was keeping an eye on the situation.
On its website, HSBC UK expressed its sincere regret that certain customers are experiencing problems with their online and mobile banking.
The bank also verified that after some customers were locked out in the morning, both its mobile app and online banking were operational again.
Around 8.45 a.m. on Friday, more than 7,000 issues were reported, according to the website DownDetector.
The website also reveals an increase in outage reports for Barclays, Nationwide, and high street bank Virgin Money.
Customers from throughout the country reported on social media platform X that their wages had not been deposited into their accounts.
The financial institution stated that it was “aware there is a delay with some customers receiving their salary or pension payments today” .
