Thursday’s drop in gold prices in Pakistan was a reflection of a drop in global prices.
The price of gold per tola decreased by Rs. 1,100 in the local market, to Rs. 274,400. Similarly, the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) reports that the price of 10 grams of gold decreased by Rs943, to Rs235,254.
This decrease comes after a slight uptick in gold prices the day before, when they closed at Rs275,500, up Rs600.
Gold prices fell on a global scale as well. APGJSA reported an ounce of gold for $2,642 (with a $20 premium), down $11 on the day. The price of silver per tola stayed at Rs 3,050.
The price of gold in Pakistan reached a record high of Rs277,000 a tola last week.
