Three people were taken into custody by the Cyber Crime Circle of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in relation to the MDCAT exam paper leak in Sindh and Karachi.
The people who were arrested were accused of offering pupils exam papers that had been leaked in return for cash.
The accused, who have been named as Shan Durrani, Tariq Aziz Samo, and Shiraz Bilal, were allegedly important participants in a gang that leaked MDCAT exam materials in 2023 and 2024.
Screenshots from the defendants’ mobile devices displaying leaked documents given to candidates were among the incriminating evidence found during FIA investigations.
The defendants’ participation in a wider network connected to exam fraud was discovered during the ongoing investigation.
15 people, including exam organizers and university officials, were named as co-accused in the scam by authorities in a case they filed.
