On Sunday, protesters against the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah marched towards the US consulate in Karachi. The demonstrators were met with tear gas by the police. They used containers and countermeasures to disperse protestors at the Mai Kolachi Bridge.
To keep the calm, the city administration has blocked off access to the sensitive area and stationed a large police party around the Governor’s House, the Chief Minister’s House, Mai Kolachi Road, and Tower.
Hezbollah in Lebanon declared on Saturday that it would carry on the fight against Israel after confirming that its leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, had perished in an Israeli bombing in Beirut.
The passing of Nasrallah is a serious setback for both Hezbollah and its purported Iranian supporters.
