ISLAMABAD Muhammad Tayyab, Director General of the Bureau of Immigration, announced on Monday that Pakistani nationals visiting the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will now need a police verification report.
He informed the Senate Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis that this decision is applicable to all travel situations and guarantees that no one leaves for the Gulf nation without the required authorization.
The top official emphasized at the meeting that all agencies that facilitate travel to the United Arab Emirates have been directed to comply with the new criteria.
He emphasized that the emirate had previously placed limitations on citizens of Pakistan, a point that Senator Shahadat Awan also brought up.
The senator asked if these limitations were still in effect or if they had been removed.
