After being given a show-cause notice for allegedly disobeying party directives prior to the 26th Constitutional Amendment’s ratification, MNA Zain Qureshi announced his resignation as deputy parliamentary leader on Saturday, reaffirming his allegiance to imprisoned PTI founder Imran Khan and Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
The PTI vice chairman’s son, Zain, announced his resignation on X “in recognition of the sentiment of our party supporters and based on my belief for a free and transparent inquiry.”
“I do so until and unless I have the confidence and trust of my party and our Founding Chairman, Imran Khan,” wrote the politician.
Two days following the decision, the central office of the previous ruling party sent show-cause notices to its NA lawmakers.
