The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday activated its Crisis Management Unit (CMU) to support Pakistani nationals and their families affected by the crisis, as Lebanon expressed worries of widespread displacement following intense Israeli attacks.
Following Israeli bombings in Lebanon, airline operations were suspended, trapping several Pakistani families.
Due to the restriction of flights and the unavailability of land routes, some trapped families contacted with Geo News to share their predicament.
They claimed that because of safety concerns in Syria, the land route out of Lebanon had been halted.
Since Monday, Israel has been heavily bombarding Lebanon’s south and east as well as the southern suburbs of Beirut; the health ministry of the nation reports that over 700 people have died as a result.
