On Sunday, Senator Faisal Vawda asserted that Imran Khan, the founder of the jailed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), chose December 14 as the date of a civil disobedience campaign in order to “manipulate” the case of Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hamid, the former head of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
Speaking at a press conference in Karachi after meeting with leaders of the Muttahida Qoumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), Vawda stated: “Once again, the PTI’s call on December 14 was not motivated by Pakistan. The date was chosen because PTI anticipates that legal action against Faiz Hamid will start after December 14.
He said that the PTI “made a mistake” by calling for civil disobedience, and that legal action against the former ISI commander will begin before to the deadline.
