ISLAMABAD: On February 8, the first anniversary of the general elections held last year, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has said that it will not participate in any conflict or disturbance.
Salman Akram Raja, the secretary general of the PTI, informed the Islamabad media that the party will only organize a demonstration in Swabi and that tehsil and union council protests would be held. There were no intentions for conflict or mayhem, he explained.
The deputy commissioner denied authority for the demonstration after the former ruling party requested permission to host one at Minar-e-Pakistan on February 8.
The DC stated in a statement that “the decision not to allow the rally was made to maintain law and order situation,” adding that there were significant events planned.
