Thursday marked the official launch of the Margalla Trails Patrol Unit, a new security structure created in just seven days, by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Inspector General of Police (IG) in Islamabad, briefed the minister about the Margalla Patrol Unit and presented the unit.
The minister visited with the police officers of the Margalla Trails Patrol Unit, gave them advice to carry out their tasks with diligence, and inspected the motorcycle and horse units.
The minister was informed that a patrol group consisting of sixty police officers has been constituted to safeguard individuals using the Margalla paths.
The goal of establishing the Margalla Trails Unit is to supply foot gasoline, motorcycle gasoline, and horseman.
Ten police officers make up the Foot Patrol, which will patrol the trails on foot while wearing complete protective gear. The motorcycle unit, on the other hand, consists of sixteen policemen and six motorbikes, and the horsemen will patrol the trails on eight horses.
Naqvi stated that these cops would seek out help right away if a citizen got lost or if there was an emergency.
