RAWALPINDI: In connection with a vandalism case, police are scheduled to present Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), to a court today (Thursday) in order to request the former prime minister’s physical remand.
The PTI founder has been detained at Rawalpindi’s Adiala jail, where an anti-terrorism court has been established for the hearing.
Khan has been in jail for over a year, and numerous cases have been filed against him, his party leaders, and his employees. He is the only prime minister in Pakistani history to be removed by a vote of no-confidence.
Hours after Khan was released on bond in the new Toshakhana case, he was arrested again in the vandalism case that was filed against him in September.
