Today is a solemn occasion to commemorate the 74th anniversary of the nation’s founding father, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and to make a commitment to uphold his guiding ideals of “unity, faith, and discipline.”
Special prayers were said in mosques and other places of worship at the crack of dawn for the departed soul’s ultimate rest as well as for the nation’s peace and prosperity.
Quaid-e-Azam The All-India Muslim League was led by Muhammad Ali Jinnah from 1913 until August 14, 1947, when Pakistan was established.
On this day in 1948, not long after the country gained its independence, he passed away.
Today, Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television are honoring Quaid-e-Azam for his unparalleled contributions to Pakistan’s independence with special programming.
