LAHORE: In accordance with the federal government’s financial plan, the Punjab administration, led by Maryam Nawaz, is scheduled to present its budget, which totals approximately Rs5.37 trillion, on Thursday. The budget will include increases in minimum and salary pay.
According to The News, Punjab is anticipated to provide a yearly development plan in the budget of Rs. 700 billion, while the province is anticipated to acquire an award of Rs. 3.7 trillion from the federal divisible pool through the National Finance Commission (NFC).
With a revenue target of around Rs1.025 trillion, the provincial government would set aside Rs595 billion for wages, Rs445 billion for pensions, Rs840 billion for the cost of providing services, and Rs700 billion for the development budget.
Out of the 1,863 schemes that are detailed in the development budget plans, only 246 new projects will be started. The 1,617 additional projects are still in progress. The road sector has been given about Rs 22 billion, special education has been given Rs 2 billion, and literacy and non-formal education have been given Rs 3.5 billion.
Population welfare has been allotted Rs 3 billion, water supply and sanitation Rs 2 billion, social welfare Rs 1.7 billion, local bodies and community development Rs 14 billion, industry development around Rs 10 billion, and planning and development Rs 37.3 billion.
