ISLAMABAD: According to ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) parliamentary leader in the Senate, Irfan Siddiqui, “three parties reached consensus on a comprehensive draft” and as a result, the bill on the controversial constitutional package would be presented in the upper house of the parliament on Friday, or today.
After attending a special committee meeting on constitutional amendments, Siddiqui addressed journalists in the parliament and explained that a final draft would be completed by Friday night and given to the Senate at today’s session.
He stated that during the meeting, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar provided a briefing on the draft. He also mentioned that Senator Kamran Murtaza of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) voiced hope regarding the suggested amendments.
Ninety percent of the work on the modifications has been finished, according to Siddiqui.
