Following an invitation from the King, Tony Hudgell, a campaigner and fundraiser who lost his legs as a result of maltreatment at the hands of his birth parents, was scheduled to attend the Royal Garden Party on Wednesday.
After being trapped on the M20 for several hours with his adoptive family due to a lorry fire, he almost missed the moment.
However, the Royal Family posted on social media just before 8:00 p.m., saying: “I’m sorry to hear this, Tony! We were also anticipating your arrival.”
Then they said, “Would you like to try again tomorrow? Give it to us.”
Tony is going to tweet this, and it has definitely lifted our spirits.
