The PTI founder and Bushra Bibi have had their pleas against their detention in the Toshakhana 2 case dismissed by the Islamabad High Court for being ineffectual.
The prosecutor from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) told the court during the hearing that the Toshakhana reference had been formally submitted, allowing the accused to request post-arrest bail.
The petitioners’ attorney, Salman Safdar, contended that the court had already observed the ambiguity of the call-up notices sent out in the case.
He emphasized that this is the second lawsuit pertaining to the Toshakhana presents and questioned the propriety of submitting the reference while the court was still deliberating over fundamental rights issues.
