Under the pretense of his mother’s serious illness, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested a travel agent from Karachi on charges of smuggling illegal substances into Saudi Arabia, according to The News.
Abdul Shakoor, also known as Shahzaib Naqshbandi, was the subject of a complaint filed by the FIA’s Human Trafficking Circle on suspicion of being involved in the unlawful activity.
After several of their relatives were detained in Saudi Arabia on suspicion of drug smuggling, a number of Umrah pilgrims from Karachi filed complaints, according to Ali Murad Baladi, deputy head of the FIA’s Anti-Human Trafficking Circle.
According to the complainants, who included Nazia Nazim, Mahmooda Bano, Niaz Muhammad, and others, Shakoor, a travel agency with headquarters in Kharadar, had paid Rs265,000 per person for their travel plans, which included tickets, visas, and lodging.
