Proposals to lease Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to the Adani group for a 30-year term are met with opposition from the aviation workers’ union.
The union claims the agreement might result in job losses.
On Wednesday morning, following the walkout by union members, flights were canceled and delayed.
The government has supported the plan, claiming that private investment is necessary to modernize the airport because it is currently working at capacity.

JKIA announced in a statement: “Meanwhile operations had resumed as of 7:00am.
