ISLAMABAD: Ayaz Sadiq, the speaker of the National Assembly, has proposed five members for the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP), including four members of the upper and lower houses and one woman.
The NA Secretariat said on Saturday that the NA speaker has written to the Supreme Judicial Commission (SJC) with the names of the 13-member commission.
Judges for the Federal Shariat Court, High Courts, and Supreme Court shall be chosen by the JCP. Additionally, it will create the yearly performance reviews for High Court judges and supervise their work.
Members of the parliament will now be part of the commission, which was reorganized after the 26th Constitutional Amendment was passed.
