In Friday’s Tri-Nation Series final at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi, New Zealand easily pursued a 243-run mark to defeat Pakistan by five wickets.
Daryl Mitchell and Tom Latham both scored half-centuries after Will O’Rourke’s four-wicket haul helped New Zealand win the ODI tri-series.
The visitors easily scored the winning runs with five wickets and 28 balls remaining while chasing a modest 243-run total.
However, the Blackcaps had a different start to the chase when Will Young, their opener at five, was dismissed by Naseem Shah in the second over with only five runs scored.
After the initial setback, Kane Williamson formed a solid 71-run partnership for the second wicket.
