KARACHI: In a crucial match in the Tri-Nation ODI series, Pakistan broke several records with a spectacular run chase at the National Bank Stadium, defeating South Africa by six wickets after surpassing a formidable 353-run goal.
As the first middle-order batsmen from Pakistan (positions 4–7) to achieve hundreds in a single innings, captain Muhammad Rizwan and vice-captain Salman Ali Agha made history.
Through their valiant efforts, Pakistan broke their previous one-day international chase record of 349 against Australia in Lahore in 2022 and achieved their highest-ever successful chase.
Salman, batting at number five, scored 134 runs, while Rizwan, batting at number four, stayed undefeated at 122. For the fourth consecutive year, the pair put on a record 260-run collaboration.
