Writer of science fiction Chad Daybell is said to have attracted readers with his apocalyptic tales with Mormon influences, among them his wife Lori Vallow.
Along with his ex-wife Tammy, he is charged with the murders of two of Vallow’s children, Joshua “JJ” Vallow, 7, and his sister Tylee Ryan, 16.
The children’s deaths captivated American news audiences and set off a months-long search. The trial is scheduled to begin on Monday, and Daybell may be sentenced to death if found guilty.
It happens over a year after Daybell’s ex-wife, Vallow, and the children’s mother, were sentenced to life in prison for the murders of the two children.
Two kids went missing from the Idaho city of Rexburg in September 2019.
After months of searching, authorities did not discover JJ and Tylee’s disfigured bodies at a Daybell-owned remote property until June 2020.
