Washington: After a protracted phone conversation between the leaders, the Kremlin announced Tuesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin has accepted US President Donald Trump’s suggestion that Russia and Ukraine stop assaulting each other’s energy infrastructure for 30 days.
According to a White House statement, the two nations intend to start talks “immediately” in the Middle East on a maritime truce in the Black Sea.
“The leaders agreed that the movement to peace will begin with an energy and infrastructure ceasefire, as well as technical negotiations on implementation of a maritime ceasefire in the Black Sea, a full ceasefire, and permanent peace,” the readout from the White House stated.
