US President Donald Trump has threatened to defund colleges that permit what he has dubbed “illegal” rallies, as well as to prosecute and deport international students who take part.
Trump declared that “all federal funding will STOP” for schools that allow students to demonstrate unlawfully on his Truth Social social media platform.
Trump made his declaration less than a year after large-scale student demonstrations against Israel’s assault in Gaza erupted on US college campuses, including the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and Columbia University in New York.
Trump promised to remove American students.
