“These Latinos, they love making babies,” Tony Hinchcliffe stated during his appearance at the Trump rally on Sunday, calling Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage.”
Hinchcliffe’s comments have drawn harsh criticism from both Republican and Democratic legislators, and Trump campaign officials have been rushing to disassociate themselves from them.

“He is genuinely fixated on his personal grievances and on dividing our nation.”
More than 48,000 Puerto Rican soldiers served in Vietnam, and more than 345 of them received Purple Hearts. This courage is admirable. Learn for yourself!
In a live stream with running mate Tim Walz for Kamala Harris, Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who was born in New York and is of Puerto Rican heritage, responded to the remarks.
