In what seemed to be a significant revelation on the probe, US President Donald Trump stated on Friday that the Army Black Hawk helicopter that crashed into a regional passenger flight in Washington, DC, was flying too high at the time of the incident.
A request for comment was not immediately answered by the army.
Route 4 is a route that US military helicopters frequently fly over the Potomac River close to the crowded Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Those helicopter flights are limited to a maximum altitude of 200 feet (61 meters) for safety concerns.
