WASHINGTON: As the US president got ready to meet with his senior team following a disastrous Oval Office confrontation with the Ukrainian, Donald Trump declared Monday that Washington will “not put up with” Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s language for much longer.
“This is the worst statement that could have been made by Zelenskiy, and America will not put up with it for much longer,” Trump posted on social media, referencing a report that claimed the battle with Moscow was still a long way off.
“This guy doesn’t want there to be peace as long as he has America’s backing.”
When European leaders met with Zelenskiy for crisis talks in London over the weekend, Trump also attacked them, claiming that they had “the job without the US.”
