Six Britons are among the 20 patients who are still in critical condition at the Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand, according to a spokesman. The incident occurred when the Boeing 777 Singapore Airlines flight abruptly dropped 6,000 feet (1,800 meters) after it encountered turbulence over the Andaman Sea.
Six Malaysians, three Australians, two Singaporeans, and one each from Hong Kong, New Zealand, and the Philippines are among the other patients in the intensive care unit.
As the plane began to tremble, several of the 211 passengers on flight SQ321 recalled their “sheer terror” and how some were “launched into the ceiling” while others lay paralyzed on the floor.
