The diver for Team GB has dedicated her life to becoming one of the nation’s most talented athletes, and she is entering her second Olympic Games.
But in order to get there, she had to face some obstacles. She had to conquer her fear of diving in order to become one of her nation’s greatest talents, as well as to establish herself as more than just the daughter of First Dates legend Fred Sirieix.
Before Spendolini-Sirieix competes in synchronized 10m platform diving this morning, here’s what you should know about her.
The London-based diving sensation is the younger brother of Matteo and the daughter of renowned French gourmet Sirieix and Italian mother Alex Spendolini.
She claims that from a young age, her mother introduced her to diving.
I was hesitant to dive in. In a video posted on Team GB’s YouTube site, she laughed and stated, “My parents made me start diving.
“My family means so much to me because they really dropped everything for my sport,” she stated.
She was discovered to have a propensity for diving at the age of eight, demonstrating her aptitude for the sport from an early age.
