Over the course of the last 20 seasons as skipper of “Deadliest Catch,” Sig Hansen has faced constant challenges.
In an interview with News , Hansen said that while the team on the Bering Sea has many difficulties, one issue they deal with on a daily basis is the weather.
“There’s always a problem, really. Success is the challenge, isn’t that right? stated Hansen. “I’ve been in a few situations where it could be fatal. The weather is always the biggest obstacle, in my opinion. Maintaining your guys’ motivation is always a difficult task, and that’s a significant one.”
The captain went on, “And discovering crab, you know.” It just takes time, but it will eventually happen. particularly if you’re skilled and knowledgeable in your field.”
Josh Harris, the star of “Deadliest Catch,” claims that after losing his father Phil Harris in 2010, he “resented fishing.”
Hansen has encountered numerous potentially fatal circumstances throughout the years.
“On a few occasions, the boat iced over to the point where I believed there was no way out. We’ve seen mechanical problems in the past, such as tanks that overflowed with water unexpectedly, causing instability on the vessel. Things like that,” Hansen remarked.
