Twelve people, including two children, have been slain by a gunman in a string of shootings in southern Montenegro.
Around 17.30 (16.30 GMT) on New Year’s Day, authorities claimed the man, who was later identified as 45-year-old Aco Martinovic, had been drinking excessively all day when he got into a fight with another patron at a restaurant in the Cetinje district.
Following the altercation, Martinovic walked home to get a gun, then came back to the restaurant and started shooting patrons.
Martinovic subsequently shot a number of additional persons, including members of his direct and extended family, while driving to five further locations. Also dead were the restaurant owner and his ten- and thirteen-year-old children.
