Two ANF officers and a private employee were killed in a gunfight between the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) and armed car riders near Jhelum on GT Road, according to News.
An ANF crew tried to halt a suspicious car on GT Road near Kala Pul, which is where the incident happened. Head Constable Gulzar and Constable Mazhar were killed instantly as the car’s occupants started shooting at the ANF squad. Zeeshan, a private employee, suffered serious injuries and eventually passed away in the hospital.
While firing, the three suspects were able to flee into a nearby forest. To find the suspects, police have initiated a search operation along GT Road with the assistance of a sizable detachment of ANF members.
According to an ANF representative, Shehzad, a driver, has been taken into custody. Shehzad said in his first statement that he had booked his car with a man from Kharian named Bilal.
As officials step up their attempts to capture those behind the attack, the search for the other suspects goes on.
