Under the command of FIA Lahore Zone Sarfaraz Virk, FIA teams conducted a raid on people smugglers and detained two suspects, including a lady, from various districts of Lahore.
The accused raised millions of rupees to move citizens away. According to an FIA spokeswoman, accused Zafar Iqbal was paid more than Rs7.1 million in exchange for a guaranteed job in the United Kingdom. The female accused took Rs8.2 million by promising to offer the citizen a job in the United Kingdom.
Both accused were wanted in multiple crimes. Both went into hiding after collecting the funds. According to an FIA spokesperson, operations are underway to arrest the accused’s additional accomplices.
