Two individuals connected to the Gwadar barbershop workers’ attack have been taken into custody, according to a statement made by Balochistan Home Minister Zia Ullah Langau on Friday.
Earlier this month, while they were sleeping in their residential quarters near the Gwadar Fish Harbour in the Surbandar region of the coastal town, seven barbershop staffers from Punjab were shot dead and another injured by unknown attackers.
Speaking during a press conference in Quetta, Langau said, “I congratulate all our institutions who fulfilled their responsibility and the government’s orders with their efforts and we have arrested two killers of the Gwadar laborers.”
The minister stated that based on the testimonies obtained from the accused, they were instructed to murder any worker who was Punjabi.
He added that the suspects who had been apprehended had had firearms and other items taken from them.
Langau bemoaned the thousands of lives lost as a result of terrorism in the nation and the government’s inability to stop its citizens from being slain.
He claimed that militant strikes were intended at weakening the province’s security and peace conditions and were specifically targeting defenseless civilians.
“Our rights are unrelated to terrorists.” We’ll go above and above to support anyone who are advocating for Balochstan’s rights,” Langau continued.
As the foreign ministry was holding discussions over the cross-border strikes from Iran, the minister stated that the federal government would get in touch with the Iranian administration regarding these attacks.
