The children, who were reportedly between the ages of five and six, attended Liverpool’s Millstead Primary School.
The Liverpool City Council and the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) have been collaborating since many giardia cases were connected to the school.
But the UKHSA declared that it was “unlikely to be due to giardia” that the two children’s deaths occurred.
Giardiasis, the most prevalent symptom of giardiasis, is caused by a parasite called Giardia that grows in the intestines of infected humans or animals.
The UKHSA, according to Emma Savage, a health protection expert, “aware of the sad deaths of two children who attend Millstead Primary.”
She continued, “Giardia is not likely to be the cause of the deaths.”
Typically, gastrointestinal illnesses caused by giardiasis are self-limiting and quickly spread throughout homes and educational environments.
According to The Liverpool Echo, the school was closed for a week in an effort to contain the illness epidemic.
