In footage published by the WHO on Monday, two severely ill children were evacuated from a hospital in the war-torn northern Gaza region by a team led by the WHO.
After being removed from the Kamal Adwan Hospital on Saturday, the kids were brought to a temporary field hospital run by the International Medical Corps in southern Gaza, where their medical needs would be addressed in more detail. Among the kids are six-year-old Fadi, who has leukemia and cystic fibrosis, as well as Nour, who is severely malnourished. The WHO stated that Fadi and Nour will eventually be sent to Egypt for additional treatment, along with a few members of their families.
Staff members at Kamal Adwan Hospital and the families of the children had made multiple pleas to the international community for the prompt provision of supplies, services, and medication due to a severe shortage.
