RAWALPINDI: The military’s propaganda wing said in a statement on Friday that security forces shot and killed two terrorists, including a militant commander, during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Tank area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The operation was carried out by security personnel on the night of January 4-5, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), following reports of terrorist activity in the area.
“During the conduct of the operation, after an intense fire exchange, two terrorists, including HVT (high-value target) Gul Yousaf also known as Toor, were sent to hell,” according to the ISPR.
According to the statement, terrorist Yousaf is still actively engaged in a number of terrorist acts against security forces, such as well-known terrorist strikes in the Tank and DI Khan areas, extortion, and the assassination of innocent bystanders.
“He was highly wanted by the law enforcement agencies and the government had fixed head money of Rs2.5 million on him,” stated the ISPR.
The local people valued the security forces’ efforts to keep the area peaceful and stable, according to the statement, which also stated that Pakistan’s security forces are committed to eradicating the threat of terrorism from the nation.
