According to Khaleej Times, a top official from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) has encouraged undocumented inhabitants of the United Arab Emirates to benefit from the current visa amnesty, which ends on December 31.
In order to provide overstayers additional time to regularize their status or return to their home countries without facing fines, this program, which was originally scheduled to expire on October 31, was extended.
“The amnesty is going to end, and overstayers who have not yet regularized their status should use the remaining time of the grace period to rectify their residency violations,” said Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the GDRFA, underscoring the urgency of the situation.
