The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is preparing for heavy to moderate rainfall starting Wednesday night. The country has been experiencing some extreme weather conditions recently, including disastrous downpours that affected Dubai and other emirates on April 16.
Earlier this month, the UAE was hit by strong thunderstorms that dumped over a year and a half’s worth of rain in a matter of hours on the desert city-state of Dubai, causing extensive disruption and floods.
In the span of just one day, from April 15 to 16, the nation saw the most significant rainfall since records have been kept 75 years ago.
Khaleej Times reports that more periods of intense rain are predicted to begin tomorrow; however, the amount of rain is not likely to be the same as what was experienced on April 16.
