The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has initiated the MBBS curriculum revision process for third- and fourth-year students with the goal of bringing a more practical and modular approach to medical education.
Prominent experts in medical education convened a special meeting, presided over by UHS Vice Chancellor Professor Ahsan Waheed Rathore, to deliberate on strategies for executing the modifications. For MBBS students in their first and second years, the university has already implemented a modular system; going forward, they intend to expand the method to include the later years of the curriculum.
Prof. Rathore stated, “We are also moving to a modular curriculum for the third and fourth years, ensuring that students get more integrated learning.”
An element of the updated curriculum will involve an increase in clinical training hours starting in the third year.
