Parts of Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, and London were inundated due to heavy rain, which also caused significant traffic disruption and property flooding.
The agency had issued 22 flood warnings for England as of Monday evening at 7 p.m.
National Highways reported that flooding has closed the A5 in Buckinghamshire between the A421 Bletchley/Stadium MK and the A509 at Milton Keynes, and that the A421 in Bedfordshire was closed in both directions between the A6 Bedford and M1 J13 near Marston Moretaine.
A report on the Central Bedfordshire Council website stated that flooding and water intrusion were the cause of the closure of several schools in the county of Bedfordshire.
Due to flooding brought on by the heavy rain, the District Line of the London Underground was closed between Turnham Green and Richmond. Throughout the day, other Tube lines in London were also partially stopped.
Additionally, a resident of Ruislip, London, told News that the floodwaters “destroyed” her property.
Firefighters responded to flooding in subterranean stations, roads, homes, and business properties in Ruislip, Uxbridge, Wimbledon, and Carshalton, as well as rescues from cars, home assistance, and stranded individuals.
