ISLAMABAD: Shafqat Ali Khan, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), stated on Thursday that a press release from several UN experts was predicated on selective and unconfirmed media reports.
“The press release from several UN specialists has been noted by us. In his weekly press briefing, Khan stated, “It is crucial that public declarations of this kind follow the rules of objectivity, refrain from selective criticism, represent factual accuracy, and recognize the entire context of the situation.”
He made this statement in response to the UN human rights experts’ call for the release of Baloch activists who had been detained in Pakistan recently.
In Quetta and Karachi, police repressed members of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) for breaking the law.
