KARACHI: As the residents of Karachi continue to suffer in the heat, a meteorological expert predicted on Tuesday that the city’s feels-like temperature would reach 43°C or maybe surpass it.
According to weather expert Jawad Memon, Tuesday and Wednesday’s high in the port city is expected to be between 38 and 39°C.
But from now till July 18, he added, thunderstorms might form in Karachi’s north, north-east, and north-west neighborhoods.
The weather specialist stated, “Moist winds coming from the Arabian Sea may cause clouds to form after afternoon.”
Additionally, he forecasted mild to heavy rain until Thursday for Gulshan-e-Maymar, Malir, Surjani, Gadap, and Superhighway districts.
In the meantime, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said that the port city’s current temperature was 36°C and its humidity was 50%.
According to the PMD, the city was experiencing intense heat and humidity, with gusts of 18 km/h from the sea.
Following many days of overcast weather, the Met Office predicted on Monday that the city may see an increase in temperatures.
