The audit found astonishing data indicating the embezzlement of millions of rupees for the construction of new buildings and other expenses.
The audit identified illicit commercial use totaling Rs2.6 million in the chief police officer’s (CPO) office, as well as Rs1.2 million allegedly abused in new construction projects.
Furthermore, the investigation detailed a Rs50 million fraud in the maintenance of government cars, with contracts reportedly awarded to banned organizations.
There were also anomalies in the procurement of lime worth Rs12.7 million and missing GST receipts of Rs11.2 million, prompting more worries about financial accountability.
In response to these discoveries, a CPO spokeswoman refuted any corruption claims, claiming that the complaints identified by the audit paragraph had been resolved.
