Washington: The United States has emphasized the importance of embracing sports diplomacy as it “connects people” in light of India’s refusal to travel to Pakistan in order to compete in the Champions Trophy 2025.
In response to a question regarding how Pakistan-India ties will impact the major sporting event, US State Department Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel made this statement.
“Sports are undoubtedly a powerful and unifying influence. This department places a high value on the ability of sports diplomacy to foster interpersonal relationships. I am aware that the US State Department places a great deal of importance on it,” he remarked.
One of the most significant cricket events following the World Cup, the Champions Trophy, is now being scheduled, which is causing problems for the cricket community.
