In a pre-recorded town hall event in Georgia, a battleground state, he declared that the Republicans “really are the party for IVF” with less than three weeks to go until the US presidential election.
He stated: “We want fertilization, and it’s all the way, and the Democrats tried to attack us on it, and we’re out there on IVF, even more than them,” in an interview with Harris Faulkner of Fox News that will run later on Wednesday. Therefore, we wholeheartedly support it.
She described the idea as “quite bizarre” to reporters as she left a rally in Detroit.
Couples who “prayed and hoped” to establish a family “have been so disappointed and harmed by the fact that IVF treatments have now been put at risk,” she said, adding her opponent should be held accountable.
She was alluding to the Alabama Supreme Court’s decision in February that identifying frozen embryos as infants amounted to murder.
