ISLAMABAD: In line with US President Donald Trump’s administration’s changing immigration policy, Pakistan and the US held consular talks on Wednesday.
This meeting takes place in the midst of major executive order changes pertaining to immigration and increased surveillance of illegal immigration, which would affect visa and tourism policy.
“Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting today to discuss ongoing collaboration between Pakistan and the US on consular issues,” the Foreign Office said in a statement.
“US Charge d’Affaires Mrs Natalie A Baker, federal secretaries of foreign affairs and interior, and other senior officials attended the meeting.”
