ISLAMABAD In response to President Donald Trump’s order to reduce funding for USAID projects globally, the United States has halted aid initiatives in Pakistan totaling more than $845 million.
Important development projects have been put on hold, and hundreds of Pakistani employees are now in jeopardy due to the sudden stoppage.
39 significant USAID-funded programs in Pakistan in a variety of fields, including energy, economic development, agriculture, democracy, human rights and governance, education, health, and humanitarian aid, have been immediately blocked by the US.
Due to the withdrawal of promised cash, many of these USAID-funded projects have now reached a standstill, and local NGOs and organizations are finding it difficult to continue operating.
The Integrated Health Systems Strengthening and Service Delivery project is one of the most important ones that has been put on hold.
