Acting U.S. Ambassador Natalie Baker and Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met to talk about boosting cooperation and bilateral ties between the two nations. Both parties agreed during the discussion that the United States should help Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) modernize so it can compete with the FBI.
Minister Naqvi emphasized the objective of converting FIA into a cutting-edge, high-tech organization while highlighting the longstanding and solid partnership between Pakistan and the United States. He applauded the United States’ backing for this endeavor, especially in raising Pakistan’s National Forensic Agency to modern standards.
The U.S. offered assistance in this area, and both parties talked about expanding the number of women in Pakistan’s security and law enforcement forces.
