JEDDAH: The United States and Ukraine reached a 30-day ceasefire agreement after crucial talks in Jeddah that aims to end hostilities for three years. However, Russia’s reaction to the plan now determines whether the ceasefire will be implemented.
The United States agreed to restore military aid and promised to finalize a deal on Ukrainian minerals “as soon as possible” during the first high-level meeting between the United States and Ukraine since President Volodymyr Zelensky’s White House dressing-down, according to a joint statement.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated, “Today we made an offer that the Ukrainians have accepted, which is to enter into a ceasefire and into immediate negotiations.”
